Following Kenya's independence in 1963, it's the first anthem when Jomo Kenyatta - first Prime Minister and first President of Kenya - adopted the "Harambee spirit" as a concept of pulling together to build a new nation. "Harambee" is a Kenyan tradition of community self-help events, fundraising or development activities. Harambee literally means "all pull together" in Swahili, and is also the official motto of Kenya and appears on its coat of arms.
The anthem was the main objective of stimulating the motivation during the meetings for , but was also offered in music festivals in general and on various occasions to meet. This version is written and set to music by the Music teacher of Kikubi Primary School
