Margaret is the IKSDP Managing Director: she deftly coordinating the activities of the entire Nyandiwa Scout Centre, in close collaboration with the Director of Harambee Projects, Antonio Labate. His work is complex and multiform and requiring a huge commitment and a remarkable capacity for management, both to program resources and interventions, both to manage relationships with the community and institutions.
"The first step in turning our dreams into reality was the construction of the Scout Center in 1985, then the first great work, the aqueduct built by the Italian volunteers under the supervision of the Government of Kenya and local authorities. - Margaret said. - "Today, more than 20,000 people benefit from drinking water in the territory of Nyandiwa: this has improved the health conditions and reduced the infectious diseases that decimated the population (arrange before you use only water drawn from Lake Victoria or from puddles of water rain) and freed women from the daily transport for miles! In Centre we coordinate numerous initiatives for the benefit of the whole community: The new Teachers Training college which is the only one of its kind in Suba District and our Computer Service provides services to the community and accessibility to the Internet. Now we are working as IKSDP with your healthcare team led by Elisabeth, a young Kenyan doctor, to build the new hospital Nyandiwa funded by the government, with the aim of create the largest health center in the District. Finally we have very large conferencing hall that can accomodate over 1000 people in a sitting ... Hostels for accomodation to different classes depending on the rates made; Poultry farming that feeds a large region; Dairy farming that provides milk to the entire Nyandiwa peninsula and many others... . everything takes more.. more time and I really have to find more people who can help me!"
